The 2019 edition of the International Competition “The Factory in the Landscape” is organized by the Italian Federation of Clubs and Centres for UNESCO (FICLU), in cooperation with the Club for UNESCO in Foligno.
This competition aims at raising awareness that the landscape and the environment shall cooperate in developing local cultures and are an important part of cultural and natural heritage, contributing to the welfare and satisfaction of human beings and to the consolidation of national identity and that sustainable development is based on the balanced relationship between social needs, economic activities, and the environment.
It is divided into two sections:
- reserved to private entrepreneurs who have built or renovated their factories or headquarters;
- reserved for administrations and institutions that have promoted and implemented initiatives of public and social utility in the field of land planning and management.
The deadline for the submission of the nominations is 30 June 2019.
